I guess my question is why the sudden change on the site and to the boards, with no prior warning?
You have successfully "run off" all the "old" fans! You remember us...the ones who've been supporting Peter's career and music since his first album?
Seems like this was your intention and if that is true, then I think it's a shame, really. You are never truly successful when you operate without integrity...because a good name is important, especially when you're asking people to spend their hard-earned money, so you can have the luxury of doing something you love!
I really miss it and the people who were there!!
Hope we will have the chance to talk again here, even if i'm a little lost right now..
Your comments are welcome of course, Mr. Hoag; but you have put the cart before the horse. Peter is very definitely an artist. It was Warner Bros who heard Peter's new music of the pop genre, liked it and sensed a chart topper, and elected to persue Peter to come join their label. Furthermore, it was David Foster himself who was so impressed after hearing Peter's new songs that he was determined to steal him from Concord's jazz label after his sophomore album and then chose to produce East of Angel Town. No need for Peter to speak up for himself, as you suggest, because he lets his music speak for itself.
It was Peter's own decision to break away from jazz and re-invent himself, go in an entirely different directlon musically. Most of us who have been to his most recent concerts can definitely tell you that on his last tour, he was already introducing his new music to the fans, and it was met favorably. All of this information in the way of video clips, TV and magazine/newspaper articles attesting to this fact were shared in the archives of Peter's old website and unfortunately all of that history was completely wiped out when this website replaced the previous one. But any longtime fan now on this board will tell you that Peter's new style of music, and the songs that he himself wrote, were all in existence BEFORE Warner Bros even entered the picture.
So before you come on here and start calling Mr. Cincotti names, I respectfully suggest you get your facts straight. I, too, enjoyed both of Peter's previous albums very much as I'm a huge fan of jazz music. But I also enjoy the new pop style he is currently doing. It will be really interesting to see where Peter's great talent leads him next, but I, for one, will be right there to enjoy the ride!

Would have to agree except for one forgotten point. The record companies are what drive these sites, and It's all about what they think sells. Personally, I prefer Peter's previous cd's over the new one by infinite proportions, but apparently the record companies wanted to target a new audience. Which does leave us far, far behind. Please speak up for yourself Mr. Cincotti!! Don't be a puppet, be an artist.
